Bohemian Inspiration

New for Spring - Add a Swing!

Fun and function.  Available everywhere, but for diy'ers here is all you'd need:
Strong dowel 1 1/2 yards long x 2 1/2 inch diameter
Poly-durable nylon rope, 2 x length of dowel
Long, steel ceiling hook
3 yards durable woven, colorful fabric (54 - 60" wide)
Lovely, decorative pillow
Book
Tea
Inner Child

Crocheters and Afghan Makers - a sturdy jute would make a nice, garden swing for (sort of) grown ups.  Add a light for a matching set!

O What A Find!

The Graphics Fairy's Printable PDF Archives Add A Vintage Flair to Everyday Crafting

Doubtful you need anymore 'ideas' (I was just updating my Pinterest boards and I'm suddenly overwhelmed) with all those projects on hold and the upcoming projects for the holidays, too.  However, if your inspiration needs a little boost, or you're involved in crafting a home project right now, click over to The Graphics Fairy for exceptional, vintage prints in downloadable pdf form.

This Paris Eiffel Tower box is a tutorial with both the old map image available for download, as well as the Eiffel Tower antique painting for print out.  The old, full moon face on dictionary print pages is my favorite - cute for baby's rooms crafts or the Hallow's Eve decorations that are worth keeping from year to year.

Eco-Crafting - Pretty Footprints

We don't create with eco-quality paint and low toxin glue just because we like to; its because we value the green earth we live on, and because nature often provides the best inspiration available.  Eco-practices + Nature Appreciation = Crafting Business Green!

Define Your Style!
The Well Dressed Home is the Bible of This Website,
Helping Wandering-Eye Stylists Uncomplicate and Discover A Personal Style

Creatively define your 'style'!
Photo of book cover from Amazon.com
Ever wonder, looking around your home, just what your style actually is?  Author Annette Tatum in The Well Dressed Home helps you find and name your style in recent descriptive terms by categorizing what you already love and have.  The book even contains fashion photos to compare and contrast, helping you determine what you love most about the things you wear and the things around you.

My style, as it turns out from Tatum's choices, is Eco-bohemian with a touch of Eco-Ecclectic and a hint of Romantic Bohemian.  Yes, her book is just that descriptive.  It really helps readers creatively define a 'style' by looking at her examples and reading the style's descriptions.

'Storyboards' put together by Tatum inspire and bring you to exact names for your style.  Classic, Resort, Modern, Vintage, Romantic, Casual, Couture, Bohemian, Ecclectic, Nostalgic and Eco-Conscious categories help you sort among the lovliest pages to find what suits your home and you.  Photos of interiors illustrate the concept that the storyboards inspire.  Any reader searching for definition can appreciate the 'bringing-it-all-together' approach to this book to then go on with determination and a decisive answer to, "Where do I go from here?"

Lavendar Wreath at RedEnvelope
 A Word About Spirituality
Inspiring Forces from Within Yourself and also from Nature

An eco-bohemian style conveys many -  i.e. many colors, many influences, many places visited, travels, keepsakes and collections like photographs.  Themes from nature -  earthy and  colorful, even exotic - and natural products like this herb lavendar wreath, left, bring nature indoors.  Lavendar has a calming effect to its aroma, too, for an extra good reason to welcome visitors in with lavendar.

Often, a respect of the Bodishatva, his journey and what he learned, are an aspect of this style - not always, but here on this website, an influence.  I believe we are but travellers, here, in this world; and, the Bodishatva's path to enlightenment is not one to be achieved but revered as a holy experience.  So, in form and shape, art and photography, this theme shows up. We all have some spiritual and internal forces inspiring us.  Themes from nature often represent a spiritual side.  Letting these influences show in our surrondings keeps us balanced, calmed, and warmed to those who enter our homes.  Displays of candles, zen objects, photographs, fabrics and tapestries or wall art bring us happiness within our surroundings.

A terrific place to find a wealth of inspiration is pinterest.com.  So many blogs and DIY bloggers have found as much or more than they could possibly have wished for to blog about at pinterest.  Have a Look at my boards!
